We're a commercial fencing contractor in Middle Tennessee handling perimeter fence, gates, and enclosures for apartment communities, industrial yards, retail centers, schools, and churches. We work across Maury and Williamson County, from Columbia and Spring Hill up through Franklin, Brentwood, Nolensville, and Thompson's Station, and out to Mt. Pleasant, Fairview, Chapel Hill, Culleoka, Hampshire, and Santa Fe. We build it ourselves.

What commercial and multi-family fencing covers

Commercial work is a different animal than a backyard fence. It has to hold up under traffic it didn't get built for. Delivery drivers back into gates. Kids climb rails. Mowers clip posts every other week. So we spec heavier material, set posts deeper, and use hardware that can be serviced instead of replaced.

Most of what we do falls into a few buckets. Perimeter fence around a property line or storage yard. Pool and amenity enclosures for apartment and townhome communities, which have to meet the barrier rules for your jurisdiction. Dumpster and equipment screening. Access gates, manual and automated, for parking areas and service entries. Ball field and playground fence.

This suits property managers, general contractors, HOA boards, and facility directors who need something that stays standing and looking right. Managing a property in the north end of our area? Our Franklin and Spring Hill commercial fencing page covers what those markets ask for.

Styles we build for commercial sites

Chain link is still the workhorse. It's the cheapest way to enclose a lot of linear feet, it doesn't block sightlines for security cameras, and galvanized framework holds up. Black vinyl-coated reads better than bare galvanized on a customer-facing property, and costs less than people assume. Weighing it against wood? We break that down on our chain link versus wood comparison.

Ornamental iron and aluminum goes in when appearance matters. Apartment entrances, pool surrounds, office parks, church campuses. Powder-coated aluminum won't rust, which matters more here than people think. Steel picket costs more but takes abuse better. Our iron fence options lay out picket spacing and rail configurations, and the pool barrier requirements page covers how those rules differ by county.

We also build wood privacy screening, composite panels for dumpster corrals, and welded wire for equipment storage. Gates deserve their own mention. A gate that sags gets propped open, and a propped gate is a liability. We size the frame and hinge hardware to the actual gate weight and use drop rods or cane bolts on double swings.

How commercial fencing holds up in Middle Tennessee conditions

Our ground fights back. Limestone runs shallow across a lot of Maury and Williamson County, and it doesn't sit at a predictable depth. One post hole digs clean, the next hits rock. That's why we bring rock equipment instead of hoping. Cutting limestone takes longer and costs more, and we'd rather say so up front than renegotiate partway through.

Then there's the clay. It swells wet and shrinks dry, and that cycle works on shallow-set posts until they lean. We set commercial posts below the seasonal movement zone and crown the concrete so water sheds off instead of pooling at the base.

Humidity is the other constant. Summers here keep steel damp for months, which is why we care about galvanizing quality and touching up field cuts. Bare cut steel rusts fast. Ice storms hit less often but hurt more, since the weight loads up top rail and chain link fabric. Well-braced corner and end posts carry that. Poorly braced ones pull.

What commercial fencing costs

Pricing depends on linear footage, material, gate count, and how bad the rock is. Screening a dumpster pad is a modest job. An entire apartment perimeter with automated entry gates is a much bigger one. Chain link is least expensive per foot, ornamental aluminum sits in the middle, heavy steel picket with automated access is the top end.

What moves a number most is rock depth, grade change, gate size and automation, and whether we're tearing out an existing fence first. We walk the site and quote from what's there. No square-foot guesses off a satellite image.

Maintenance and how long it lasts

Galvanized chain link lasts a long time when the framework was specified right. Powder-coated aluminum needs almost nothing beyond a wash. Steel picket wants a look now and then for coating chips, especially at the bottom rail where string trimmers hit.

Gates are what need attention. Hinges loosen, latches wear, and automated operators need their sensors and limits checked. Walk your gates seasonally and call before a sag turns into a bent frame. It's a cheap fix early and an expensive one late.

Commercial fencing FAQs

Do you handle permits for commercial fence work?

We pull fence permits where the local jurisdiction requires one and we build to the setback and height rules that apply to your property. Requirements vary between cities and between commercial and residential zoning, so we check before we dig rather than after. Pool barrier work has its own code requirements and we build to those.

Can you work around an occupied property?

Yes, and a lot of our multi-family work is exactly that. We stage material where it won't block parking, keep open trenches secured overnight, and sequence the run so residents always have a way in and out. We'll coordinate with your on-site manager on timing.

How long does a commercial fence install take?

A small screening job is a day or two. A full apartment perimeter with gates takes considerably longer depending on footage and how much rock we hit. Automated gate operators add time because the electrical has to be coordinated. We give you a real schedule after the site walk.

Do you install automated gates and access controls?

We install swing and slide gate operators with keypads, card readers, and call boxes. We handle the gate, the operator, and the mounting. Low-voltage and power runs get coordinated with your electrician so nobody's waiting on anybody.

How we work

We're the ones who show up, not a lead service that sells your number to other contractors. You call us, we walk your property, we quote it, we build it. Same people the whole way through.

The site walk matters. We check the property line, probe for rock, look at grade and drainage, and figure out where gates need to go. Then you get a written scope with material specs, not a number scribbled on a card.

Call us at (629) 230-3689 to get on the schedule for a walkthrough. Tell us what you're managing and what you're trying to enclose, and we'll come look at it.

We also build dumpster and trash enclosures, and handle security fencing for businesses, schools, churches, and HOA communities, storage and dealership perimeters, and tennis and pickleball court fencing.
